GLS University Youth Fest ‘NARRATIVE – Unfolding Stories of Youth 2026–27’, the 8th Chapter of the University’s Centennial Cultural Celebration, concluded with a vibrant final day celebrating creativity, performance, confidence, imagination and the diverse voices of young people. The entire three-day celebration was organised under the leadership of GLS University President Shri Sudhir Nanavati and Executive Director Dr. Chandni Kapadia.
The third and concluding day brought together a wide range of cultural and creative competitions, giving students opportunities to express themselves through dance, music, visual art, fashion, theatre and digital storytelling. Across the events, the theme of ‘Narrative’ came alive as students transformed their ideas, experiences and imagination into stories presented through different artistic forms.
Stories Come Alive Through Creative Choreography
One of the highlights of the final day was the Creative Choreography Competition, where nine teams transformed the stage into a canvas for storytelling. The performances explored diverse themes including the journey of a doctor, the courage of Indian Army K9 warriors, the relationship between humans and nature, women’s strength, relationships, mythology, the struggles within the human mind and the journey of life.
Through movement, music and expression, the performances brought stories of courage, sacrifice, relationships, inner conflict, human values and self-discovery to life. The competition reaffirmed dance as a powerful medium through which emotions, ideas and human experiences can be narrated.
Creativity Meets Technology in Digital Poster Making
The Digital Poster Making Competition gave students a platform to explore contemporary ideas through visual storytelling. Participants presented their interpretations of technology, human creativity, aspirations, heritage and the changing relationship between people and the digital world.
The competition reflected how young creators are using digital tools not only for design, but also to communicate ideas and perspectives on issues shaping the present and future.
Confidence and Personality Take Centre Stage at Mr. & Miss GLS
The much-awaited Mr. & Miss GLS competition added glamour, confidence and personality to the final day. Students from across the University participated in a series of rounds that included individual talent presentations, audio-visual introductions, a Question & Answer round and a group ramp walk.
The competition provided a platform for students to showcase not only their talent and stage presence, but also their individuality, communication skills, confidence and ability to express themselves.
Music, Movement and Performance Enliven the Final Day
The Indian Group Singing and Indian Vocal Solo competitions brought the richness of Indian musical traditions to the festival, with students presenting their individual and collective musical expressions.
The Band Competition added a contemporary musical energy to the celebrations, bringing together performers and instruments in a live showcase of rhythm, coordination and musical creativity.
The Mime Competition presented storytelling without spoken words, allowing students to communicate emotions, situations and ideas through expressions, gestures and movement.
Tradition, Fashion and Creativity on One Stage
The Drape Styling Competition added a distinctive fashion and cultural dimension to the celebrations, giving students an opportunity to experiment with draping styles while presenting their creativity and sense of aesthetics.
The event reflected the ability of young minds to reinterpret traditional elements through contemporary presentation and creative styling.
Digital Storytelling Brings NARRATIVE to a Close
The Reel Making Submission further extended the festival into the world of digital storytelling. Through short-form visual content, students captured and interpreted the spirit of NARRATIVE, giving their own creative perspective to the experiences and energy of the Youth Fest.
A Vibrant Finale to Three Days of Youthful Expression
With competitions spanning creative choreography, Indian group singing, digital poster making, drape styling, Mr. & Miss GLS, Indian vocal solo, mime, band performance and reel making, the final day brought together the many dimensions of student creativity.
Over three days, NARRATIVE – Unfolding Stories of Youth 2026–27 provided students with a platform to create, perform, communicate and connect. From visual art and digital expression to music, dance, theatre and fashion, the Youth Fest celebrated the diverse ways in which young people see the world and turn their thoughts and experiences into stories.
The successful conclusion of the three-day Youth Fest marked a vibrant celebration of talent, imagination, culture and youthful expression, bringing the 2026–27 edition of NARRATIVE to a memorable close. The festival ultimately reflected its central spirit — that every young mind carries a story, and every story deserves a stage.
The celebrations will formally conclude with the valedictory function tomorrow, where the winners of the various competitions will be announced.
