A dispute over cleaning a bathroom allegedly turned violent in Vadodara after a woman suffered serious acid burns when her mother-in-law reportedly threw an acidic substance at her face.
Following the incident, police registered a case against five members of the woman’s family. The victim suffered burns to her face and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to the complaint, the woman and her mother-in-law had an argument over cleaning the bathroom. The dispute allegedly escalated, following which the mother-in-law threw the acidic substance at the woman.Police are investigating the incident and the alleged roles of the five people named in the complaint.
Acid attacks can cause severe burns, permanent scars and damage to the eyes and other parts of the body. Victims may require prolonged medical treatment and rehabilitation.
