MICA will launch two certification programmes on cultural communication, marketing and global branding in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).
The programmes will be offered through an online course and an on-campus programme at MICA under a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two institutions. The courses are designed for policymakers, artists, cultural practitioners and professionals.
Under the partnership, MICA students will get opportunities for field immersions, dissertations and internships at IGNCA centres, including its Regional Centre in Vadodara. MICA faculty and students will also offer strategic inputs for selected cultural campaigns led by IGNCA.
The institutions will further collaborate on research projects and develop case studies focusing on heritage communication and the marketing of traditional arts.
MICA Director and CEO Jaya Deshmukh said the partnership would examine the connection between contemporary India and its cultural traditions. She described it as a step towards bringing “India and Bharat” together through a “MICAN lens”.
