A Vadodara resident has lodged a complaint with Bapod Police alleging that his car was set on fire outside his house during the early hours of the morning.
The complainant, Ankurbhai Rajendrakumar Purani, a trader residing at Asha Lata Park Society near Kamalanagar Lake on Ajwa Road, told police that he had gone to bed around 10.30 pm on the night of the incident.
According to his complaint, Purani woke up around 2.30 am after hearing noises coming from the compound. When he went outside, he allegedly saw Divyanshu Singh Virendrasinh Chauhan fleeing from the premises on a two-wheeler.
Purani then noticed that his car parked inside the compound was on fire. He alleged that Chauhan had poured petrol on the vehicle and set it ablaze. Purani managed to extinguish the flames using water.
The fire reportedly damaged the driver’s seat and caused other damage to the vehicle.
Purani also told police that around a year ago, Ilendrasinh Chauhan, a resident of Chauhan Paliyu in Baman village of Vadodara taluka, had filed a case against him alleging cheating and breach of trust. The matter is currently pending before a court.
Bapod Police have registered the complaint and initiated further investigation into the incident.
