Tourists visiting the Statue of Unity in Gujarat’s Narmada district can now enjoy a new attraction with the launch of a luxury cruise on the Narmada River. The newly introduced vessel has a capacity of 600 passengers and has been commissioned after meeting all required safety standards and securing approvals from the concerned authorities.
The launch comes in response to the growing popularity of the existing 200-passenger cruise, which has become a favourite among visitors for its scenic views of the Statue of Unity and the surrounding landscape. The larger cruise aims to cater to increasing tourist demand while offering enhanced comfort and modern amenities.
Designed as a multi-purpose venue, the cruise can host birthday parties, weddings, corporate events, product launches, musical evenings, cultural programmes and private celebrations. Its spacious interiors and scenic river setting are expected to provide a unique experience for both leisure and event organisers.
The cruise is equipped with decorative lighting that enhances its appeal during evening and night voyages, making it a major new attraction at Ekta Nagar.
Key features of the new cruise:
Capacity: 600 passengers
Dining area for 250 guests
Length: 30 metres
Width: 12 metres
Stage measuring 5×4 metres
Decorative lighting for night cruises
Suitable for weddings, corporate events, cultural programmes and private celebrations
With its larger capacity and upgraded facilities, the new cruise is expected to strengthen tourism at the Statue of Unity while generating employment opportunities and supporting the local economy.
