The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, scheduled to begin on August 15.
Shubman Gill will continue to lead the side, with KL Rahul named vice-captain. The squad also marks the return of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, while Saransh Jain has earned his maiden call-up to the Indian Test team.
Wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel have been included, while the pace attack will be spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. Kuldeep Yadav, Manav Suthar and Jadeja will lead the spin department. The BCCI said the availability of Sai Sudharsan and Jasprit Bumrah will be subject to fitness clearance from the Board’s Centre of Excellence (CoE).
