The Ahmedabad–Okha Vande Bharat Express will operate from Sabarmati (Jail Side) station instead of Ahmedabad Junction from August 17, following changes approved by the Ministry of Railways. The revised schedule also includes a new halt at Ambli Road railway station.
According to railway officials, the change is aimed at improving passenger convenience and enhancing connectivity, especially for residents of western Ahmedabad. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Rajkot Division, Sunil Kumar Meena, said the new stoppage has been introduced to serve the city’s rapidly growing western areas.Under the revised timetable, Train No. 22925 Sabarmati–Okha Vande Bharat Express will leave Sabarmati at 6.15 am every day except Tuesday. It will halt at Ambli Road from 6.23 am to 6.25 am, reach Rajkot at 9.31 am, and arrive in Okha at 1.20 pm.
On the return journey, Train No. 22926 Okha–Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express will depart from Okha at 4.45 pm, reach Rajkot at 7.44 pm, stop at Ambli Road from 10.40 pm to 10.42 pm, and terminate at Sabarmati at 11.10 pm.The train will continue to run six days a week, with no service on Tuesdays.
The addition of Ambli Road marks the station’s first-ever Vande Bharat stoppage. The new halt is expected to benefit commuters from S.G. Highway, Bodakdev, Prahladnagar, South Bopal, Shela and nearby areas by providing easier access to the semi-high-speed train.
Railway authorities said the existing schedule of Train No. 22925 Ahmedabad–Okha Vande Bharat Express will remain effective until August 15, while the current timetable of Train No. 22926 Okha–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express will continue until August 16.
