In a major relief for railway passengers, the Ministry of Railways has decided to shift the origin of three pairs of express trains from Sabarmati station to Gandhigram station on a permanent basis from August 26, 2026. The move is expected to improve rail connectivity for commuters in central and north Ahmedabad.
As part of the change, all three trains will also get a two-minute halt at Chandkheda Road station, offering greater convenience to passengers in the area.
The trains affected are Train No. 14821/22 Gandhigram–Jodhpur Daily Express, Train No. 12587/88 Gandhigram–Agra Cantt Superfast (four days a week), and Train No. 22547/48 Gandhigram–Gwalior Superfast (three days a week).
The Jodhpur Express will depart from Gandhigram at 7 am, while the Agra Cantt and Gwalior Superfast trains will leave at 4.40 pm.
