The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Darjipura has suspended the driving licences of 289 motorists for traffic rule violations, fatal accidents and drunk driving cases between January 2025 and June 2026.
According to the RTO, action was taken against 119 drivers for traffic violations, 96 for involvement in fatal accidents and 74 for driving under the influence of alcohol. In addition, the licences of two drivers were permanently cancelled due to serious negligence.
RTO officials said the action is part of an ongoing drive to improve road safety, curb traffic violations and encourage motorists to strictly follow traffic rules.
