Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday announced that the Indian Air Force (IAF) will be used to transport question papers for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled on June 21, citing logistical difficulties and unpredictable weather conditions during the monsoon season.
The move is aimed at ensuring a completely secure and leak-proof examination process.
Pradhan said the Centre is adopting a “whole-of-government” approach by coordinating with the Defence Ministry, Home Ministry, Postal Department and state governments to conduct the examination smoothly and transparently.
“Earlier, the Postal Department played a major role along with the Home Ministry and state governments. This coordination will continue, but now the Indian Air Force will also assist in ensuring that question papers reach examination centres safely and on time,” Pradhan said.
The announcement came after a high-level meeting attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
During the meeting, officials discussed additional security measures to prevent any possibility of question paper leaks.
Pradhan said the government is fully committed to conducting a free, fair and credible examination with no compromise on security and efficiency.
