A married woman was allegedly kidnapped from her house in Ahmedabad’s Motera area in broad daylight after four people forcibly entered the residence and dragged her away in front of her mother-in-law.
According to police and family members, the incident took place on the afternoon of May 27 in the Bhilwas area of Motera. The victim, identified as Komal, was resting at home when three men and a woman allegedly barged into the house.
The accused reportedly forced Komal out of the house despite her cries for help and took her away in a car parked outside.
Komal’s mother-in-law, Shardaben, who was present during the incident, tried to stop the kidnappers and rescue her daughter-in-law. However, the accused allegedly pushed her aside, threatened her not to interfere, and fled from the spot with Komal. Her husband, Kamlesh Nai, was reportedly at work at the time.
Police suspect the abduction may be linked to Komal’s previous relationship with a man identified as Gevar Gurjan.
Family members alleged that despite Komal’s marriage, Gevar Gurjan continued to contact and harass her repeatedly. They suspect the kidnapping may have been carried out due to obsession and resentment related to the past relationship.
Following the incident, Shardaben filed a kidnapping complaint at the Sabarmati police station against four accused persons. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Officials said CCTV footage from the area is being examined, while efforts are also underway to trace the Creta car allegedly used in the kidnapping through its registration number.
