Dr. Mayur Joshi, Founder and Managing Trustee of Udgam Charitable Trust, has been felicitated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to water conservation and social development.
The honour was conferred during the prestigious Nagpur Jal Samvad, 2026 and Jal Kranti Parishad, organised in Nagpur as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Purti Sinchan Samruddhi. The national forum brought together 50 distinguished experts from across India working in the water sector.
The event witnessed the presence of eminent personalities including noted actor and Paani Foundation founder Aamir Khan, Naam Foundation President Nana Patekar, renowned environmentalist Padma Bhushan Dr. Anil Joshi, and Padma Shri Umashankar Pandey, among others. In his address, Shri Gadkari commended Dr. Joshi’s sustained efforts in advancing water conservation and promoting environmental awareness, and presented him with the honour.
Responding to the recognition, Dr. Joshi said, “This honour belongs to the entire Udgam Charitable Trust team and every individual committed to the cause of water conservation. Receiving this encouragement in the presence of such respected national figures strengthens our resolve to contribute more meaningfully towards nation-building and sustainable development.”
With nearly three decades of impactful work, Dr. Joshi has led Udgam Charitable Trust across diverse areas including education, healthcare, women empowerment, preservation of classical music, water resource management, and revival of traditional water systems. Aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Trust continues to drive environmental and community initiatives across both rural and urban India.
