Central Board of Secondary Education has started the online registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), the mandatory examination for candidates seeking teaching jobs in CBSE-affiliated schools.
According to the official notification, the 22nd edition of CTET will be held on September 6 across 132 cities in India in 27 languages.
The online application process began on Monday and will continue till June 10. Candidates can complete their registration and pay the examination fee during this period.
After submitting the application form, applicants will be allowed to make corrections between June 15 and June 18. No changes will be permitted after the correction window closes.
CBSE will release the admit cards online on September 4, two days before the examination. The results are expected to be announced by the end of October.
The CTET examination will consist of two papers:
- Paper 1 is for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5.
- Paper 2 is for candidates aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8.
This year, CBSE has clarified that candidates will not be able to choose their preferred exam city, as centres will be allotted randomly by the board.
The board has also stated that if the number of applicants rises significantly, the exam may additionally be conducted on September 5. In the previous session, more than 26 lakh candidates had registered, leading CBSE to hold the examination over two days.
