Pankaj Patel, chairman of Zydus Lifesciences, on Monday announced a donation of Rs 500 crore for the establishment of Zydus Sardardham University in Ahmedabad.
The announcement was made during the inauguration ceremony of Sardardham-3 in Vadodara in the presence of Narendra Modi and several leaders from the Patidar community. Patel made the announcement along with Gagjibhai Sutariya.
Pankaj Patel, an Ahmedabad-based Gujarati industrialist, was ranked 24th on the Forbes list of India’s 100 richest tycoons in October 2024, with an estimated net worth of $10.2 billion.
Sardardham is a social organization that works for the welfare of Patidar youth by providing coaching for competitive exams, skill development training, and educational support. Its headquarters is located on the Sardar Patel Ring Road in Ahmedabad.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated the third educational complex of Sardardham in Vadodara during the event.
