Gandhinagar, May 6, 2026 — The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released the results for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations conducted in February and March this year. Board Chairman Mukesh Pandya announced that a total of 83.86% of regular students passed, marking a slight increase from last year’s 83.08%.
A significant number of students participated—7,56,392 to be exact—with 6,34,327 successfully qualifying for their certificates. Female students once again outshone males with an impressive pass rate of 88.28%, compared to boys at 80.12%.
The results also highlighted notable academic success: over 35,508 students achieved the coveted A1 grade. Impressively, 1,697 schools across Gujarat reported a perfect pass rate while unfortunately, 39 schools recorded no passing students.
Diverse Performance Across Districts and Centres
Narmada district emerged as the top performer with a remarkable pass percentage of 90.85%. In contrast, Panchmahal struggled with only 76.42%. Additionally, the Ajol centre in Gandhinagar achieved a flawless result with a perfect pass rate.
The lowest-performing centre was Munkhosla in Dahod district at just 33.74%.
Semi-Annual Exam Plan for Students
Pandya emphasized that the exams were conducted smoothly across all 1,006 centres. With security measures in place—including the ‘Paper Box Authentication and Tracking Application’—only five cases of malpractice were found on-site while CCTV footage revealed another 233 irregularities.
The board is giving second chances to those dissatisfied with their scores through a “Best of Two” supplementary exam set for June 2026. This allows students to retake subjects and have their best score counted towards their final certificate.
