The Class 12 results this year show mixed performance. The Science stream improved to 84.33%, while the General stream saw a slight drop to 92.71%.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board announced the results today. In the Science stream, over 1.18 lakh students appeared for the exam, while around 4.35 lakh students took the General stream exam.
Boys and girls performed almost equally in Science, with girls slightly ahead at 84.65% compared to boys at 84.04%. In the General stream, girls performed much better, scoring 95.41%, while boys scored 90.10%.
The number of schools with 100% results increased this year. In Science, it went up from 194 to 209 schools, and in the General stream from 2005 to 2030 schools. Also, the number of schools with very low results (below 10%) has reduced in both streams.
Ahmedabad recorded the lowest pass percentage in the General stream at 87.10%, while Ahwa Dhang scored the highest at 97.88%. In the Science stream, Dahod had the lowest result at 57.44%, while Morbi topped with 94.85%.
More students scored top grades this year. In Science, A1 grade students increased from 831 to 1,576. In the General stream, 7,435 students got A1, up from 5,655 last year.
Among students with disabilities, 157 out of 194 passed in the Science stream at a 20% standard. In the General stream, 612 out of 2,255 students passed under the same criteria.
