The Central Board of Secondary Education has directed all affiliated schools to update details of the third language for Class 6 by May 31, 2026. Schools must upload the required information on the OASIS portal.
Earlier, CBSE had issued a circular on April 9, 2026, explaining the rollout of the third language under the National Curriculum Framework (NCF-SE) 2023. While many schools submitted their language choices, the board found errors and incomplete entries in several cases.
CBSE has made it mandatory for all schools to complete this update. Schools that have not submitted details must do so जल्द, and those with incorrect entries can correct them before the deadline.
The move aims to ensure proper implementation of the policy before the 2026–27 academic session. It also follows the goals of the National Education Policy 2020, which promotes multilingual learning and requires students to study at least two Indian languages by July 1, 2026.
