The ongoing geopolitical situation has now begun to impact educational institutions, with the Central University of Gujarat (CUG) revising its hostel mess menu due to a disruption in gas supply.
In an official notice, the university said there is a widespread shortage of gas cylinders, which has affected regular cooking operations. Authorities added that efforts are being made to restore normal supply, but temporary arrangements have been introduced in the meantime.
To ensure mess services continue without interruption, the administration, along with student mess representatives, has decided to cut down the existing menu. Despite the changes, the university has assured that students will continue to receive nutritious and healthy food.

In the notice issued by the Chairperson of the Mess Committee and the Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW), students have been requested to cooperate and support the decision during this period.
However, the university has not detailed the exact changes in the menu or specified which food items have been reduced, leaving students uncertain about the extent of the revisions.
