Ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 matches at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory to ensure smooth movement and security.
Police Commissioner G S Malik said traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place on match days due to the large number of spectators, VVIPs, and players.
Seven matches will be held in the city, and the advisory will be Applicable on April 4, 17, 20, 26, and 30, and May 3 and 12.
Restricted routes
On match days, the road stretch from Janpath T-junction to Motera Stadium main gate, via Krupa Residency T-junction to Motera Gam T-junction, will remain closed for all vehicles.
Alternate routes
To reduce congestion, the following diversions have been suggested:
- From Tapovan Circle: Vehicles can go via Visat T-junction to ONGC crossroads, then take the route through Power House crossroads to Prabodh Raval Circle.
- From Krupa Residency: Commuters can use Sharan Status crossroads, Bhat-Koteshwar Road, and head towards Apollo Circle.
Exemptions
Restrictions will not apply to authorised match-related vehicles, government duty vehicles, fire brigade, ambulance services, and local residents. Residents must carry valid ID proof.
Authorities have urged cricket fans and commuters to follow the advisory to avoid inconvenience and ensure smooth traffic flow on match days.
