Ahmedabad: Flight operations between Ahmedabad and several destinations in the Gulf region faced disruptions on Monday, as the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran stretched into its 17th day. While some flights resumed, numerous arrivals and departures remained cancelled at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA).
On Monday morning, an Emirates flight successfully departed for Dubai. Later in the evening, an Etihad Airways flight to Abu Dhabi was scheduled to take off. Additionally, an Air Arabia flight to Sharjah operated earlier in the day — a sign that services are gradually returning.
But despite these resuming flights, around eight others connecting to Gulf nations were still cancelled. Notable cancellations included IndiGo flight 6E-1432 from Abu Dhabi and Kuwait Airways flight KU-347 from Kuwait City. Other affected flights were Etihad Airways’ EY-246 from Abu Dhabi and IndiGo’s 6E-076 from Jeddah. Qatar Airways also faced cancellation with its QR-534 service from Doha.
The disruption wasn’t limited to arrivals; several departures were grounded as well. This included Etihad Airways flight EY-247 bound for Abu Dhabi and Qatar Airways’ QR-534 heading to Doha. Further adjustments are being made frequently by airport authorities based on updates regarding the situation in West Asia.
Passengers still planning travel have been advised to check directly with airlines for the latest information before heading to the airport due to ongoing uncertainty.
