Ahmedabad is feeling the heat as temperatures skyrocketed to 41.2°C on Monday, March 10, 2026. That’s about 7°C higher than usual, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The minimum temperature for the city hovered around 21.8°C, which is nearly 4°C above normal.
Other cities in Gujarat are also sweating it out. Rajkot and Surendranagar both reached a blistering 41.6°C, making them the hottest spots in the state. Kandla Port followed closely at 41.4°C, while Deesa hit 41.1°C and Keshod recorded a high of 40.8°C.
Even Gandhinagar and Surat aren’t escaping this heat wave; they registered temperatures of 40.6°C each. Vadodara and Bhuj weren’t far behind at around 40.4°C, while Amreli reported a maximum of 40.5°C.
Coastal areas managed to stay somewhat cooler thanks to sea breezes—Dwarka saw a maximum of just 28.4°C, Okha reached only 29.2°C, and Veraval recorded a high of 31.2°C.
The IMD noted that hot and humid conditions prevailed across Gujarat over the last day, impacting Saurashtra-Kutch and nearby Union Territories like Diu and Daman as well.
The forecast for Tuesday predicts no relief with Ahmedabad expected to maintain similar scorching conditions—maximums around 41°C and minimums close to 22°C under clear skies.
