A man was violently attacked in Ahmedabad’s Khokhra area during a heated argument over a pet dog. The incident, which took place on Sunday evening, has led to police action against three individuals: Shani Chauhan and his father, Arvind Chauhan, along with his brother, Ravi Chauhan.
According to the victim, Shivshankar Divakar, the conflict began while he was discussing keeping a dog with a neighbor. Shani Chauhan intervened and insisted that while keeping a dog was acceptable, it should not come near their property. Things escalated quickly when Shani reportedly hurled insults at Shivshankar.
When Shivshankar stood his ground against the verbal abuse, Shani allegedly armed himself with an iron rod and struck him on the head. In a shocking turn of events, both Arvind and Ravi joined in on the assault.
Local residents heard the commotion and rushed to help after witnessing the brutal beating. However, by then, the attackers had fled the scene.
The police report detailed how all three men participated in physically assaulting Shivshankar using both language and violence. The assault left him unconscious after being hit with what was described as a knife on his head. He was promptly taken to Civil Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Khokhra police have since registered a case against the trio and are continuing their investigation into this disturbing incident.
