Ahmedabad Police Step Up on Noise Pollution
So, the Ahmedabad Police just dropped some new rules to tackle noise pollution—like, seriously. G S Malik, the city’s Commissioner of Police, put out a notice saying you gotta get permission if you wanna use loudspeakers or DJ equipment at religious events, weddings, or any other gatherings.
No More Late Night Blaring
Basically, between 10 pm and 6 am? Forget it! The use of loudspeakers and microphones is totally banned during those hours. They’re not giving out permits for sound systems at that time—no exceptions which is wild.
Special Areas Get Extra Protection
And get this: there are now “silence zones” around hospitals, schools, and courts—all within 100 meters. Using loud sound equipment in those areas? Nope! Strictly prohibited. If your speakers are bothering pedestrians or anyone nearby? The police can shut it down immediately.
Keeping It Cool During the Day
Ngl, you can play music at more civilized hours (6 am to 10 pm) but only if the cops say it’s cool—and of course you gotta keep it within certain volume limits. They’re really watching those sound levels during processions or rallies too. So no going overboard!
Punishments Are Real
: Honestly? If someone breaks these rules, they’re facing fines and maybe even criminal charges which sounds intense. And they’ll be snatching up any loudspeakers or DJ setups that don’t comply with the law too—you’ve been warned!
