A bomb threat email sent by an unknown individual caused a significant security alert at a rural court in the Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad on Monday. The alert followed a similar bomb threat received by the Gujarat High Court on the same day.
According to officials, the email specifically warned that the rural court building was at risk of being blown up. Responding swiftly, police teams, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Dog Squad, were immediately dispatched to investigate.
As a precautionary measure, authorities evacuated everyone from the court premises. Judges, lawyers, staff members, and clients had to leave without delay as security personnel worked to clear the complex.
The ensuing search operation involved thorough inspections of every floor and section in the court building by specialized teams. Senior police officials from Navrangpura were also present on-site, restricting access to ensure safety during the operation.
Officials have launched an investigation aiming to trace the origin of this threatening email and identify its sender. Alarmingly, this incident marks the third time in just three months that threats have been reported at this particular rural court.
