The North Western Railway has announced the launch of the Udaipur City–Asarva (Ahmedabad)–Udaipur Vande Bharat Express (Train Nos. 26963/26964), strengthening high-speed rail connectivity between southern Rajasthan and Gujarat.
As per the official notification, an inaugural one-way special service (Train No. 09663) will run on February 16, 2026, departing Udaipur City at 12:25 pm and reaching Asarva at 5:15 pm. The train will stop at Zawar, Dungarpur, and Himatnagar during the journey.Regular services from February 18Regular operations of Train Nos. 26963/26964 will begin from February 18, 2026, with the train operating six days a week and remaining cancelled on Tuesdays.
Facilities and maintenanceThe train will have commercial halts at Zawar, Dungarpur, and Himatnagar. Primary maintenance will be carried out at Udaipur City, while cleaning and watering facilities will be available at both terminal stations.Coach compositionThe Vande Bharat rake will include eight passenger coaches—Executive Chair Car and Chair Car—along with two power cars, offering faster acceleration, improved comfort, and modern onboard amenities.The new service is expected to reduce travel time, improve regional connectivity, and provide a faster and more comfortable travel option between Rajasthan and Gujarat.
