Cooler Nights Return in Several Parts of Gujarat; Weather to Remain Dry

Minimum temperatures have dropped in several parts of Gujarat after a warmer spell last week, bringing cooler early mornings in mid-February, according to the India Meteorological Department’s latest report.

Naliya recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 11°C, which is 2.1 degrees below normal, showing sharper cooling in the Kutch region. Amreli (14.2°C) and Porbandar (14.7°C) also reported lower-than-normal night temperatures.

In central Gujarat, Ahmedabad recorded a minimum of 16°C and Gandhinagar 15.8°C, both slightly above normal. Vadodara remained warmer at night with 17°C.

In Saurashtra and coastal areas, nights were milder. Rajkot recorded 17.3°C, Bhavnagar 17.2°C, Veraval 18.5°C, while Okha and Dwarka saw temperatures around 18–19°C due to the sea’s effect.

In south Gujarat, Surat recorded 17.8°C and Daman 18°C, close to normal.

Despite cooler nights in some places, daytime temperatures remained above normal in many cities. Deesa (35.8°C), Rajkot (35.3°C) and Kandla (35.2°C) were among the hottest. No rainfall was reported anywhere in the state.

The weather is expected to stay dry, with slightly cool nights and early mornings likely to continue over the next few days.
