Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has revised the question paper format for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Master of Engineering (ME) examinations, effective from the winter 2026 session.
Under the new pattern, the total marks allotted per question will remain the same, but examiners will have flexibility in dividing the marks into sub-questions. For ME courses, each main question will carry 14 marks, which may be split into combinations such as 9+5, 10+4, or 7+7. However, a single 14-mark question will not be allowed.
For BE courses, the revised format will apply to semesters 5, 6, and 7. Questions 1 to 3 will continue with the existing 3+4+7 marks structure, while questions 4 and 5 can now be set using flexible sub-question combinations, as long as the total remains 14 marks.
There will be no change in the question paper pattern for semesters 1 to 4.
