The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) and TotalEnergies India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 15, 2026, to promote and kick-off TotalEnergies Outlook Summit 2026 scheduled to be held on February 14, 2026,at its campus. The event will be first of a series of initiatives to encourage student engagement and collaborative initiatives in education, research, and industry-oriented projects.
The MoU outlines a partnership to develop programs that enhance students’ scientific, managerial, economic, marketing, and public relations skills. Under this collaboration, TotalEnergies will leverage IITGN’s campus infrastructure for events and activities that provide students with real-world exposure to the energy sector.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof Rajat Moona, Director, IITGN, said, “This partnership will open new avenues for our students to engage with industry leaders, gain practical insights, and apply their knowledge to impactful projects. We look forward to a productive collaboration with TotalEnergies.”
Dr Sangkaran Ratnam, India Country Chair, TotalEnergies, added, “By combining academic rigor with industry guidance and geopolitical realities, we hope to spark practical solutions for India’s net-zero ambitions while showcasing the TotalEnergies Energy Outlook publication as a valuable blueprint for action in India and around the world.”
The TEO Summit, which will be accessible both LIVE at the IIT-G campus and ONLINE, will feature Thomas-Olivier LEAUTIER, Chief Economist TotalEnergies who flies in from Paris to present the TEO LIVE at IIT-G followed by a LIVE discussion and debate with an eminent list of panellists from both industry and academia.
IIT Gandhinagar and TotalEnergies are keen to conduct activities to promote student engagement and introduce several initiatives to bring out initiatives to promote student capabilities.
The TEO Summit at IITGN reinforces TotalEnergies commitment to shaping public dialogue on the energy transition and underscores the message of “more energy, less emissions” – growing energy access, while simultaneously pursuing aggressive emissions reduction. Participants will gain direct engagement with the TEO authors on the scenarios and datasets used by TotalEnergies, bridging theory with real-world implications.
The partnership will serve as a foundation for long-term engagement in research, workshops, seminars, and other initiatives designed to prepare students for future challenges in the energy sector.
