A Pakistani fishing boat, Al Madina, with nine crew members on board was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard in the Arabian Sea and is being brought to Porbandar for further action.
The interception took place during routine vigilance operations in international waters. Coast Guard personnel noticed a boat moving towards Indian waters and immediately acted to stop it. The vessel was surrounded and all nine persons on board were detained.
During preliminary checks, the boat was confirmed to be from Pakistan, with all nine crew members identified as Pakistani fishermen. After initial questioning at sea, the Coast Guard seized the boat and took the crew into custody.
The vessel is now being escorted to Porbandar, where further investigation and legal procedures are expected to be carried out, including the registration of a case.
Following the incident, maritime security along the coastal border has been tightened. A similar Pakistani boat was intercepted last month on December 13, prompting authorities to further strengthen surveillance and security measures in the region.
