The famous sports event 9th Adani Ahmedabad Marathon (AAM) will be held in Ahmedabad city on November 30, 2025. Preparations are being made in full swing to organize this grand event. Through smooth planning and strong coordination and cooperation between civic agencies, this event will provide thousands of runners with a smooth and safe marathon experience.
The marathon, organised by Adani Sportsline, has received the necessary support from the Ahmedabad City Police, Traffic Police and Health Department. In a joint press briefing held here on Wednesday, November 26, the organisers outlined the arrangements, route logistics and safety measures for the marathon.

Recognized for its high standards, AAM is certified by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). Since 2022, it has been included in the AIMS Global Marathon Event List, which signifies its status among the premier distance-running events worldwide.
This will be the third edition of the scenic course introduced in the year 2023. The track passes through Ahmedabad’s most iconic landmarks, Atal Bridge, Gandhi Ashram and Ellis Bridge, providing an athlete-friendly run.
The marathon will be flagged off on Sunday, November 30 by Mr. Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL). Along with him, esteemed members of the armed forces, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Air Force Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, General Officer Commanding of the Indian Army Major General Gaurav Bagga and actress, writer and fitness expert Mandira Bedi will also be present on the occasion.
During the event, KD Hospital, as the official medical partner, has helped design a comprehensive medical support system to ensure that medical assistance is available whenever needed. 21 medical booths will be set up across the course and a critical-care station will also be arranged in the holding area. 108 ambulances will be specially deployed along the entire route. In addition, various hydration centres, manned by trained volunteers, will take care of the health of the athletes during the race.
Senior police, traffic and medical officials briefed on their preparations for the event.
Ahmedabad Sector-1 Additional Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar Badgujar gave details of the comprehensive plans for crowd management and emergency response. He said, “Police and running have always had a deep connection. From training for exams to training camps and even now, running has always been important. It is important for us to successfully conduct a major event like this marathon. The marathon route will pass through seven stations. The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon has truly become a part of the city’s identity and I am proud to be associated with it since 2018. I am personally going to participate this year and the entire police department is excited about the marathon. Hundreds of police personnel will be deployed for the efficient coordination of this event so that every participant and citizen can experience a safe and well-organized marathon. We are fully prepared to ensure the safety and security of our citizens.”
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bhavana Patel said, “We are excited to be a part of the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon. This event has become a hallmark of the city since its inception. This event is truly inspiring as it showcases the human spirit at its best. It reminds athletes to respect their limits and listen to their bodies. Our medical teams will be ready on the track and ensure everyone’s safety. I wish every participant to join the race with full energy, joy and enthusiasm, with the need for doctors being limited to cheering from the sidelines.”
Race Director Dave Kandi expressed confidence of hosting 24,000+ runners this year. He said, “This is my third year as Race Director of the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon and I am looking forward to helping the event conclude successfully on Sunday. Ahmedabad is a city that is deeply connected to its heritage. When I joined the board, our main goal was to develop the standard of the event and I am proud that the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon is a truly world-class event. This year, the marathon will host over 24,000 people in various categories, 33% more than last year. This is a great event for the city and we thank all the officials and the public who came out in large numbers to support this event.”
Sanjay Adeshwara, Chief Business Officer, Adani Sportsline, thanked various institutions and citizens of the city for their continued support for the event. He emphasized on the marathon’s theme, #Run4OurSoldiers, in which 4,000+ armed forces personnel and police officers will participate, who will pay tribute to India’s defence forces and remember their bravery shown in Operation Sindoor.
He said, “Like every year, the entire city will be mobilised with the support of local authorities to make this event a success. This is the only marathon in the country where the armed forces have such active participation. Our motto since the inception of the marathon has been, ‘#Run4Soldiers’, and we are happy to have achieved it for the last nine years. On behalf of the Adani Sportsline team and every participant, we thank the Sabarmati River Front Police, Traffic Police, our medical staff and all those who made this event a success.”
