During the ‘Run for Unity’ held on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (October 31), thousands of Surat residents participated in the event organised by Surat Police. However, after the run concluded, the streets were left littered with empty water bottles and snack packets, tarnishing the city’s ‘clean city’ image.
In a commendable gesture, Surat Police Commissioner, senior officers, and even their family members joined hands to clean the streets themselves. Their spontaneous cleanliness drive sent out a strong message on civic responsibility and public discipline.
