The Gujarat government has cancelled this year’s Girnar Leeli Parikrama following continuous unseasonal rainfall that severely damaged the 36-kilometre pilgrimage route. The muddy and slippery paths have made the area unsafe and inaccessible for devotees.
After inspecting the route with saints, local leaders, and officials, the Junagadh District Collector announced the decision, citing safety concerns. Instead, a symbolic Parikrama will be performed by saints on the night of November 1 to uphold the religious tradition.
Authorities have urged devotees to cancel their travel plans and cooperate with the administration in managing the situation.
