Vigilance Awareness Week 2025: HPCL at the Forefront of Building a Transparent and Corruption-Free Nation

Vigilance Awareness Week is observed annually during the week in which the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel—India’s “Iron Man”—falls on 31st October. Sardar Patel’s vision of integrity, unity, and disciplined governance continues to inspire generations. His ideals remind us that ethical conduct in public and private life is the foundation of a strong nation.

Every year, India observes Vigilance Awareness Week to reaffirm its collective resolve toward integrity, transparency, and accountability in all spheres of life. This nationwide campaign, initiated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), aims to sensitize citizens and organizations about the importance of ethical conduct and good governance.

In 2025, the observance takes on added significance as the nation progresses toward a future driven by digital transformation, innovation, and inclusive growth. This year’s theme— “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”—resonates deeply with the values of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), which continues to stand at the forefront of this movement, driving impactful initiatives to promote vigilance, ethical behaviour, and transparency.

As part of a series of initiatives organized by HPCL across schools, colleges, and stakeholder forums, HPCL today conducted an Expert Talk followed by a Vigilance Walkathon at Ahmedabad. The event witnessed active participation from HPCL officers, as well as key stakeholders from the LPG and Retail segments.

The Vigilance Walkathon aimed to mobilize employees, students, and citizens to collectively promote awareness about the importance of integrity and the need to eradicate corruption. Through such initiatives, HPCL seeks to foster a transparent and ethical culture within the organization and the larger community.

HPCL’s Commitment to Integrity and Ethical Governance
HPCL firmly believes that integrity is not merely a corporate value—it is the foundation of sustainable growth and national trust. As one of India’s leading public sector enterprises, HPCL has consistently demonstrated that vigilance is not about fault-finding, but about fostering a culture of prevention, participation, and predictability.

Through continued engagement with various sections of society, HPCL remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting transparency, ethical governance, and collective responsibility in building a corruption-free ecosystem.
