After the phenomenal success of ‘Kantara’ (2022), audiences have been eagerly waiting to return to its mystical world. The wait is finally over — the much-anticipated prequel, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, has now been released in theatres, delving deeper into the origins of the story that captivated millions.
Unlike the first installment, which seamlessly blended folklore, action, and modern-day themes, the new chapter focuses on the roots of the Daiva culture, exploring ancient rituals, spiritual beliefs, and the traditions that form the foundation of the Kantara universe.
For those preferring to enjoy the film from home, there’s good news — ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ will begin streaming on Prime Video from October 31, 2025. The film will be available in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages.
Set during the Kadamba dynasty, the prequel unfolds in the dense forests of Banavasi, tracing the story of Kaadubettu Shiva, a man whose fate is deeply connected with divine forces and sacred customs. The narrative promises an enthralling mix of mythology, mysticism, and human emotion, revealing the origins of the legend that shaped the world of Kantara.
