Ahead of Navratri, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has released detailed fire safety guidelines for organisers to ensure public safety during the nine-day festival.
According to the notice, organisers must apply online for a temporary Fire Safety Certificate (FSCAT) and submit a hard copy at Jamalpur Fire Station. The fire department will inspect venues before granting approval.
The guidelines prohibit pandals near schools, hospitals, warehouses with inflammables, furnaces, substations, or railway tracks. A minimum two-metre gap between structures is mandatory. Stages must allow fire truck access, while seating plans should include clear passages and at least two emergency exits.
Entry limits will be based on capacity, with one square metre allotted per person.
