The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed the kitchen of Shivshankar PG Boys Hostel on CG Road, Navrangpura, after an inspection revealed severe food safety violations, including rotten vegetables and insects in meals.
AMC’s food department, led by Dr. Bhavin Joshi, found the kitchen operating without a valid food licence and in unhygienic conditions. Officials said immediate action was taken to protect residents’ health.
Residents, who pay between 10,000 and 18,000 monthly, had been complaining about poor food quality for over three months. Despite repeated complaints, hostel managers Yash Bansal and Shail Patel allegedly ignored the issues, even asking dissatisfied residents to vacate.
