QR-Coded Marksheets from 2026 for Gujarat

Board Students Tamper-proof, easy-to-access certificates to replace current systemStarting 2026, students of Classes 10 and 12 under the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) will receive QR-coded marksheets and certificates. The new system is designed to make documents tamper-proof, easily verifiable, and accessible in times of urgency. The initiative will replace the existing dot-matrix and barcode system with advanced QR-coded technology, covering nearly 30 lakh marksheets and certificates. Trials have already been completed successfully, officials said.Principal Secretary (Primary & Secondary Education) Mukesh Kumar confirmed that the process is underway and expected to benefit over 15 lakh students in 2026.GSHSEB Chairman M.A. Pandya said the move will save students the trouble of visiting board offices for verification. “The QR code will be unique to each student, making marksheets impossible to forge. Students will be able to share documents directly for higher studies in India and abroad,” he added.Though the cost of each marksheet may rise slightly—from Rs 12 to about Rs 14—the benefits in terms of security, accessibility, and fraud prevention will be significant.
