In the shocking case of the Class 10 student’s murder outside Seventh Day Adventist School in Khokhra, fresh revelations have surfaced with investigators recovering WhatsApp chats of the accused minor, exposing his disturbing state of mind.
According to police sources, the 16-year-old accused, who allegedly stabbed the victim during a scuffle on August 19, had exchanged messages with a friend both before and after the attack. In one such message, he reportedly boasted, “Tu kaun hai, kya kar lega?” (Who are you, what will you do?), and later admitted to stabbing the student.
The chats also reveal that his friend advised him to go underground for a few days after the crime. Investigators say the exchange reflects the accused’s lack of remorse and provides insight into his mindset at the time of the offence.
Officials from the Crime Branch, which is leading the probe, confirmed that the digital evidence will form a crucial part of the chargesheet. The accused, a Class 8 student, is currently in custody and has been booked for murder under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Juvenile Justice Act.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage across the city, with the victim’s family demanding both the closure of the school and the death penalty for the accused. Meanwhile, investigators are also probing claims that other minors may have been involved in the assault.
