Police have located the 23-year-old teacher who allegedly ran away with her 13-year-old student after four days. In a shocking development, the teacher was found to be pregnant with the student’s child.
She admitted that the pregnancy resulted from her relationship with the boy. Following her confession, police charged her under the POCSO Act. She was presented before a court on Thursday, which granted a one-day police remand.
Initially, police were left scrambling after it was reported that a 23-year-old teacher had absconded with her 11-year-old student. However, it later emerged that the boy was actually 13. Theywere apprehended near the Rajasthan-Gujarat border and brought back to Surat from the Shamlaji area.
During questioning, it was revealed that the boy, who attended the teacher’s tuition classes, and the teacher had developed feelings for each other and decided to run away together.
