Class 10 and 12 students can choose best of main, supplementary exam result
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has introduced a major change for students in Classes 10 and 12. Starting from 2025, students across all streams will be eligible to appear for supplementary exams under a newly introduced “Best of Two” policy, designed to help them achieve their highest potential scores.
This new system allows students to take both the main examination and the supplementary examination. They can then choose the better result between the two, offering a second chance to improve their academic performance. For the 2025 board exams, a total of 13,75,625 examination forms have been submitted so far. This includes 8,65,396 forms from Class 10 students, 4,00,449 from Class 12 General stream students, and 1,09,780 from Class 12 Science stream students. The previous year saw 15,38,953 sub- missions.
The board has extended the dead- lines for submitting examination forms. Class 10 and Class 12 Science stream students have until December 6, while Class 12 General stream students can submit forms by Dec 9.
