Anand Nagar Police has booked three people for posing as CBI officials and conducting a raid at YMCA Club in the city.
A complaint was filed with Anand Nagar Police by Sumit Khanwani, a filmmaker by profession. Sumit alleged that while he was having a business meeting on the second floor of YMCA Club, three individuals entered, shouting “Raid, Raid, CBI!” and started taking people’s mobile phones. When Sumit questioned them, they physically assaulted him. The three individuals later fled the scene in a car with license plate number GJ 38 BD 4985.
Upon investigation, it was found that the car belonged to Dhanraj Rathod, and the other two accused were identified as Virendrasinh Chavda and Vijaysinh Parmar.
The police have booked the three accused under sections 204, 115(2), and 54 of the Indian Penal Code and are carrying out further investigations.
