A state-level event will be held to celebrate the ‘International Yoga Day’ on June 21 in Gujarat. The border-village of Nadabet in Banaskantha will host the ‘Yoga for self and society’ themed event.
The event will be held at Nadabet with the support of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department of the State Government, Gujarat State Yoga Board, and Border Security Force – BSF. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, along with Minister of State for Sports, Harsh Sanghavi, will join about 2500 yoga practitioners in the state level program.
Spokesperson Minister Rushikesh Patel requested the citizens of Gujarat to join the Yoga Sadhana and make a healthy life and make yoga a place in their daily life as part of the celebration of 10th International Yoga Day on 21st June.
“International Yoga Day will be celebrated in 312 major venues in 8 municipal corporations, 32 districts, 251 talukas, and 20 municipalities across the state. The events will be held at schools – colleges – ITIs from Gram Panchayat to Mahanagarpalika, Jail – Health – Police Departments across Gujarat,” said Patel.
CM Patel will deliver a speech at 06:30 am and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 06:40 am, which will be broadcast live across the state.
From 07.00 to 07.45 in the morning, 25 lakh people will participate in general yoga protocol training.
The United Nations declared International Yoga Day in 2014 and since 2015, this day has been celebrated in the countries of the world.
