LSUS and IITRAM Forge International Academic Partnership

Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) and the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management, Ahmedabad (IITRAM) have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate inter-university collaboration.

This agreement, signed by Dr. Robert T. Smith, Chancellor of LSUS, and Dr. Bhrigu Nath Singh, Director General of IITRAM, outlines a comprehensive framework for academic cooperation. This joint collaboration was initiated by Dr. Pravin Jadhav from IITRAM.

Under the MoU, LSUS and IITRAM aim to promote student exchanges, faculty collaborations, and joint research initiatives. LSUS, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and IITRAM, an autonomous university established by the Government of Gujarat State, are equipped with the necessary resources to support this partnership.

The collaborative efforts between Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) and the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management, Ahmedabad (IITRAM), primarily center on admissions to master’s programs, faculty exchanges, and joint research initiatives, as outlined in their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

IITRAM students can apply for relevant master’s programs at LSUS, benefitting from prioritized admission and limited international student scholarships. LSUS will recognize and credit master’s-level coursework earned by IITRAM students. The MoU also facilitates faculty exchanges, allowing IITRAM faculty to visit LSUS and vice versa, potentially earning additional compensation for teaching at the host institution. Collaboration extends to joint research ventures, conferences, workshops, and publications. The MoU, initially spanning five years, may be renewed for another term, with termination possible through mutual consent or a three-month notice. While not legally binding, the MoU establishes the groundwork for future agreements, with financial arrangements to be negotiated separately based on fund availability.

This partnership signifies a joint commitment to advancing global education and research collaboration between LSUS and IITRAM.
