A man from Ahmedabad lost Rs. 5.05 lakh worth of Indian and foreign currency notes and a gold chain from his luggage bag at Ahmedabad airport. The complainant faced this as he returned from Vietnam on Vietnam Airlines flight VJ-1805.
Nikunj Sudhirkumar Patel (30), a resident of the Premchandnagar area of Ahmedabad, on 8 September, he along with his friend Dinesh Rajput and family left for Singapore on vacation. On 16 September they reached Malaysia Airport at 11 hours and handed over their total 9 bags at the check-in counter in Malaysia before boarding the flight. Among 9 bags, a White bag had Indian currency notes worth Rs. 55,000 and cards along with Rs. 3 lakh worth currency in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and U.S. notes, and also a Rs. 1.50 lakh worth broken gold chain of 3 tola weight.
At 11 pm Patel with his family arrived at Ahmedabad airport from Malaysia via Vietnam. After immigration, they received bags from the belt number four. However in one white bag, in which they had kept valuables, a white belt was seen hanging outside. When checked, the family found an absence of cash and a gold chain in it.
The family members informed the staffers of Vietnam Airlines and Adani airport staff regarding the theft and also informed the Police control room.
Airport Police is investigating this case. It’s worth noting that last month, another complaint regarding theft of cash from a luggage bag was filed at the Airport Police by another traveler who had returned from Dubai.
