Three more people have been detained by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in connection with the seizure of illegal mephedrone and its raw materials worth Rs. 478.65 crore in Vadodara, an official announced on Friday.
The ATS detained the suspects on Wednesday for allegedly participating in a ring that manufactured and sold the illegal substance. The suspects are Vadodara city residents.
On November 29, 2022, a team from the Gujarat ATS raided a small factory/godown on the outskirts of Vadodara and found a sizable quantity of mephedrone and its raw materials, valued at Rs 478.65 crore.
The investigation agency claims that one of the earlier detained suspects learned how to make drugs on the “dark web” and recruited others after establishing a facility close to Sindhrot.
