Three people have been arrested on Friday for teasing and harassing two lions in Rampara village of Rajula taluka in Amreli district.
Based on the forest division, Dula Vagh (22), Savaj Vagh (21) and Naka Vagh (22) had been arrested and booked underneath varied sections of the Wildlife Safety Act.
They allegedly harassed two lions close to their village when the massive cats had been preying on an animal on the night time of July 20. The three had been detained for interrogation on July 21.
In-charge assistant conservator of forest, Nilesh Vegda, mentioned: “These three individuals didn’t permit a lion and a lioness to feed on the prey. They compelled them to run away, chased them on a motorcycle, recorded a video, had a selfie with the lions and in addition uploaded the video on social media.”
Of the three, Naka Vagh is a repeat offender. He had been arrested just a few years again for the same crime and launched on bail. All of the three are associates and residents of the identical village.
In the video they shot from a speeding bike, a lioness is seen moving in fearfully at a high speed on a bridge, and it appears to be worried.
Forest officers discovered several videos and images of lions being teased on their cell phones. They’re investigating the case.
