The number of new Covid-19 cases reported declined significantly on Monday. The drop is attributed to fewer tests being conducted as a result of flooding in many areas. In Ahmedabad, there was a 27.5% drop from 255 cases on Sunday to 185 cases. Gujarat saw a 6.5% drop, from 546 to 511.
Compared to the 40,000 daily tests in Gujarat and 4,400 tests in Ahmedabad last week, on Monday Gujarat recorded 26,117 tests and Ahmedabad 3,586 tests.
The other cases recorded included 71 from Surat city, 40 from Vadodara city. 31 from Mehsana and 21 from Gandhinagar city, among others. Four districts have no active cases.
