Thousands of fans flooded the city streets as the Gujarat Titans celebrated their title triumph in an unforgettable maiden season in the IPL with a victory parade on an open-top bus.
Starting at 5:00 PM, the IPL’s newest champion paraded their silverware from the Usmanpura Riverfront to the Vishwakunj Riverfront in an hour-long event. As firecrackers, dhols, and chants rang around the players, the entire squad waved to the fans and gave them merchandise.
The Gujarat Titans players also had their fun, with many taking their celebrations to social media, posting pictures from the trophy parade in Ahmedabad.
On the same day, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel hosted the state’s newly-crowned Indian Premier League champions and felicitated them.
“Got a chance to interact with players of IPL 2022 winners Gujarat Titans. They presented me a bat with signatures of all squad members. The proceeds from it will be used in the education of the daughters of the state. Congratulations to all the players,” the chief minister wrote on his Twitter handle.
The team will travel to Mumbai on Tuesday, where its owners will throw a party to commemorate the victory.
