As per a decision made by the managing committee of Surat Diamond Bourse(SDB) – the names of members who are relocating their businesses from Mumbai to Surat will be displayed at the bourse’s reception for the rest of their lifetime under the list “Leading member of SDB who started diamond trading.”
According to SDB’s circular, such members will be able to avoid paying the maintenance charge for the first six months.
It further states that such members can purchase diamonds from anywhere but cannot send samples or sell products from Mumbai. Meaning that they have to discontinue selling from Mumbai and start selling from SDB.
The offer will be available to those who start selling from SDB from December 31, 2022.
The only motive of this decision is to promote business at SDB and there is no intention to hurt the feelings of any person or organization, states SDB.
