Nana Patekar, the beloved Indian actor known for his impactful films, died early this morning following a medical emergency. According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Head of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital in Goa, Nana had sent a distress message to a friend around 2:30 AM, expressing that he wasn’t feeling well.
The friend arrived at Nana’s flat by 4:00 AM and found him in critical condition, sweating profusely. An ambulance was called immediately as his health continued to decline.
By the time the emergency team reached him, Nana had lost consciousness. They began administering CPR on the way to the hospital, but despite their efforts—continuing cardiac massage for over 45 minutes—he was pronounced dead at 5:20 AM.
In light of this being a medico-legal case, his body has been transferred to Goa Medical College for postmortem examination.
